Hi, sorry to barge in but I have been thinking along the same lines as a more realistic representation of the small arms looks better overall. Panzershrek for the Germand PIAT for the british.

I am not an expert on this but I think it is OK to lob a pyro by spring, air or gas of some kind provided it is not "fin stabilised" which the VCR made a very big offence. So one of those LAW66 things Deepfire make with a Nerf football is very illegal.

I wondered if the 40mm gas shower shells could be used and the front end bit have to be removed to take out the spent one and put in a new one. Slow just like the real thing but a bit dear to have more than a couple of shells.

I also thought about using a simple tube and catapult elastic for round pea grenades to make a sort of mortar but idoes that sound more dangerous than just throwing them and is it in and way illegal looking? People's thoughts please.

As far as we all know, it's illegal to fire any form of pyro, so it's strictly a no-no, regardless of fins or firing method...

Yeah you cant launch any pyro, technically you arent supposed to throw them at people either, some places say to use a pyro, you must activate it, place it on the ground and move away.... but thats pants so..!

Firing a smoke bomb from an m203 grenade launcher is illegal, so i would imagine converting a PIAT/shrek/Bazooka into 1 to do the same would also be illegal.

As far as I am aware launching nerf rockets isnt illegal, otherwise they wouldnt sell the launchers in Argos, I think firing them at people can be classed as assualt.

so I would imagine a shrek would also be illegal.
.

So does that mean the green bodypaint and donky I bought are out of the question.

I like the pics. I hope no one minds me bringing this up again , but I remember reading that some one used a nerf football and put a walmart rocket engin in it . with some modifications and a panzersweck body , could this be used against tanks? I know that this might be illegal in england But I live in the US . So I will have to check the state and local laws .

Completely illegal here.

Best not to discuss it.

Also see this earlier thread has lost more about all this 5 pages in fact.

I still think a Nerf rocket is the way to go with even with its foam stabilising fins.
But a electronic laser tag system is also good as long as it takes some skill to use it.
Having a transmitter that works within 25 metres does not sound good to me you could be on the other side of a brick wall and still be able to destroy a target, not realistic and no skill involved.
:?

It'd have to be infrared and have a fairly narrow directional beam, so you'd need a clear and accurate line of site to cause a hit.

Think laser tag and you're spot on. In fact, any cheap lasertag gun internals would work, as they're IR and not actually lasers...

You have to get so close with a PIAT that it is like using satchel charges... ;)

Extreme range of a PIAT 350m, effective range vs armour 150m, realistic range 100m.

Big advantage is you can fire it inside a house without having to shore the building up internally and theres no back blast to (a) hoof you in the guts when the air pressure changes around you massivley as with other AT weapons (b) give your position away.

Bazooka and panzerschrek teams generally got one (two if they were lucky) shots to get it right before the amour clocked them and leathered their position, a dug in piat team is near impossible to spot from a tank.
